![]() | Ted Neeley. He's Jesus in the movie, and he's also who I saw play Jesus on stage. I know some people who refer to him as the "screaming Jesus", but I think that his interpretation can be really effective, especially because it is rock music, after all. I really like his Gethsemane, and he moved me to tears with his performance. For more, please visit this Ted Neeley Page. |
Carl Anderson. He was Judas in the movie, and on the tour as well, though I saw his understudy instead. I've also seen him perform other stuff as well, and he really does have a great voice, though, like Ted's, probably not what you would call a typical Broadway voice. Anyway, for more, please visit Performing Artist Carl Anderson's Personal Homepage. | ![]() |
![]() | Glenn Carter. He played Jesus in the recent Broadway revival as well as in the video version. I have to admit that I wasn't very impressed at the first live appearance I saw him do, but after hearing him on the recording, he grew on me. A lot. :-) I would have liked to have seen him on stage! Jrme Pradon. When I heard he'd be playing Judas in the video version, my reaction was, "of course!" If you'd asked me who should play Judas, I probably wouldn't have come up with his name, but when I heard it, it just made sense. And he's really wonderful in the part! ![]() | Yvonne Elliman. She's Mary Magdalene in the movie, and her version of I Don't Know How to Love Him has always been one of my favourites. Though she doesn't play Mary quite as strong as I think she could be, she still does a wonderful job. For more about Yvonne, take a trip to Yvonne Elliman Superstar |
