I have two different French recordings, both of which are great! You can't really compare the two, since they were not created with the same purpose in mind, but I will just give some quick thoughts on them.

The Original French Concept album was the first recording of the show ever made, and it is fascinating from that perspective! It shows some of the stages of development the show has gone through to get to its present state. Specific things I like are the orchestrations in "Dites-moi ce qui se passe", and the song "L'un vers l'autre", which was later replaced by "On My Own". It is also really interesting to hear the cast for this. I especially found the Javert interesting, because the interpretation is very different from the English ones. You also get a chance to hear the composer, Claude-Michel Schnberg singing! :-)

The Paris Revival Cast is, as I said, extremely different from the concept album. It is basically the show re-translated back to French. I really like a lot of the cast here, especially Eponine and Gavroche! :-) I find that Marius and Enjolras sound very similar, as opposed to other recordings where the voices are very different.
