At first I was a little leery about the idea of filming this show, but after they announced the cast, and especially after seeing the Cats video, I started to get more excited than worried!

It turns out I had very little to be worried about. This is even better than the Cats video, in my opinion. Staging it as a presentation for school kids was a fine idea, and as I expected, the cast was great. Donny Osmond is just perfect - what can I say? I've seen him on stage and loved his performance, and he did a fabulous job here as well. Maria Friedman was not quite as good as I'd hoped (she seem to have some trouble with her upper range, and I wanted to see her belt a bit more), but she was fine, and seemed to be enjoying it! The "name" players like Richard Attenborough and Joan Collins did their parts well, and Robert Torti was a great Pharaoh. All in all, really not a bad link!

I was happy that they stuck mainly to the staging of the show (though I thought they could have changed a few of those costumes!). Of course the added effects of film were fun, and the music sounded great. I just really enjoyed this video, and highly recommend it to anyone!
