![]() | Donny Osmond. The original Canadian Joseph, and the first Joseph I saw...he's great!! His voice is perfect for the role, especially in his amazing rendition of "Close Every Door". His acting was also great...I love when Joseph looks totally confused by everything going on around him!! For more information about Donny, please visit the Official Donny Osmond Site. |
Vance Avery. I made a special trip to Toronto just to see Donny Osmond in the role again before he left, and I got to the show to discover that the understudy was going on that night! So, I might have been a little biased against him, right? Well, this guy wouldn't let me be! He was a great Joseph, and he has a wonderful voice as well. Janet Metz. She's the Narrator on the Canadian recording, and was also the first Narrator I saw. She also has a great voice for the role, and I will never understand how she never sounded out of breath after all the running around she has to do! |
![]() | Johnny Seaton. He was the Pharaoh both times I saw the show, and even my mother, a big Elvis fan, was impressed. His impersonation is wonderful, and you can tell he loves playing to the crowd! He was also really nice in person!! |
Kelli James Chase. I didn't think I would like anyone more than Janet Metz as the Narrator, but this woman changed my mind. WHAT a voice! I don't think she needed the mike at all! When she would have a big note, the sound system would literally be ringing!! Her interpretation was different though. With Janet, she almost sort of seemed to be attracted to Joseph, but Kelli really didn't play that angle at all. Anyway, overall she was fabulous!!
