![]() | Movie Soundtrack. This is my favourite recording, mostly because having grown up with the movie, when I think of the songs, I think of them being sung by the movie cast! I especially like Olivia Newton-John, and Stockard Channing's "There are Worse Things I Could Do". I also really love the songs written for the movie, perhaps more so than the songs from the original show that they replace. The soundtrack includes full versions of the songs from the Dance-off, and "Love is a Many Splendored Thing". I just wish the songs were in order! |
![]() | Jay Recording. I actually bought this recording for the sole purpose of having Ethan Freeman's "Born to Hand Jive", but it turns out I bought the highlights version, which doesn't have that song! What it does have is 12 songs, from the stage show and the movie, with John Barrowman as Danny and Shona Lindsay as Sandy. It's okay, but not something I listen to very often! |
![]() | Broadway Revival Cast. This production became notorious for the number of TV/movie/music personalities that ended up in it, but the cast on the recording is actually pretty good. I was mostly curious about Ricky Paull Goldin as Danny, since he was on a soap opera that I was watching at the time. He's quite good, but doesn't make me forget John Travolta or anything! Other notable names are Sam Harris, Megan Mullally and Rosie O'Donnell. It's a fun addition to any collection, but not necessarily a must-have. |
