Original Broadway Cast. A friend played this recording for me before I'd seen the show, and, though the overture was catchy, I can't say I was really thrilled with much of the rest of it. But then, after seeing the show, I went and bought the CD, and now I love it (though there are still a few songs I skip over). The cast is really great, especially Patrick Wilson, John Ellison Conlee, Jason Danieley and Emily Skinner, and the songs, for the most part, come across pretty well, though it definitely helps if you have some idea of what's going on at that point in the show. If you're a fan of the show though, or at least curious, I do recommend this CD, but I could understand why people who haven't seen the show may not like it quite so much.

Original Barcelona Cast. This CD is pretty similar to the Broadway cast recording - it's got the same songs and runs pretty much the same length of time. The cast is very good here, with strong voices, particularly Mone, with a great version of "Life with Harold", which also sounds particularly good in the Spanish translation. The translations as a whole fit the music well, though I can't comment on their accuracy! As a fan of the show, you won't be disappointed in this recording, and it's a great intro to the show for any Spanish speakers!
