Topol. I defy anyone to watch the movie version of this show and not be completely charmed by Topol as Tevye. He plays his as a sweet big bear of a man, and that makes his fate at the end even more touching.

Brent Carver. Rather than try to re-create the performances given by other men in this role, Brent made it completely his own. His Tevye was funny, sweet, a bit mischevious, and completely devoted to his family. He made me laugh and he made me cry. I simply can't imagine seeing anyone do it better.
