Patti LuPone Patti LuPone. She was the first Eva that I heard, and she is still my favourite. She manages to capture both Eva's gutsiness and her vulnerability perfectly! She is really a fabulous actress!! Please visit the Official Website of Patti LuPone for more information about Patti.
Donna Marie Asbury. This was the first Eva I saw on stage, and she was fabulous as well! Her voice really blew me away at some points. The role really requires a lot of acting talent to get the audience on your side despite all of Che's comments, but I thought she did a fabulous job! MadonnaMadonna. Evita in the movie, obviously. I really enjoyed her performance in the later part of the movie. I thought she created a lot of sympathy for Eva when she became sick, even if the first part of the film didn't quite create the attachment to the character I'd hoped. But still, overall, I was impressed with how she handled the role! There are a million websites, so I suggest you start with the Official Madonna Fan Club page, or the official Madonna Website.

Elaine Paige. Her version of "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" is definitely one of my favourites! She is fabulous at creating vulnerability in a character while still retaining strength (as her Norma in Sunset and her Grizabella in Cats). Mandy Patinkin Mandy Patinkin. He's just a wonderful performer, and I loved his interpretation of Che. He was sarcastic, angry, disillusioned...all when he had to be, and just to the right extent. For more about Mandy, please see The Mandy Patinkin Showcase.
Daniel C. Cooney. He was the first Che I saw on stage, and he was really great!! He was comic and serious, angry and sad, condemning and accepting. He is the one who really made me appreciate the role of this character. Daniel C. Cooney
Antonio BanderasAntonio Banderas. Again, this is for Karen and Melanie. :-) I'm not terribly fond of his Che, just because I think there were a lot of people who could have sang it better. But he does do a decent job, and had a better voice than I was anticipating! There are lots of websites - try the Antonio Banderas Web Mall to start.
Jonathan Pryce. I love the way he played Peron. It was very much what I imagined him to be like. I wish he would have been given the opportunity to REALLY sing, though, since he does have such a great voice!! For more information, visit this Jonathan Pryce Fan Page. Jonathan Pryce
Philip Quast Philip Quast. If you'd asked me what show I would finally see Philip Quast perform live in, I don't think I ever would have guessed this one. I've been a fan of his for such a long time (even watching very long Australian miniseries for him), and it was wonderful to see him live. He was an excellent Peron, and actually brought tears to my eyes in the show's later moments. As with Jonathan Pryce, I wish there was more material for Philip to sing, but he still did wonderfully with what he had. For more information, stop by the Philip Quast Continuum.
Frank Mastrone. Okay, now Magaldi isn't normally a part that warrants that much attention. But I thought he did a really good job at it! And then I happened to see him again, several years later, as Jekyll/Hyde on Broadway, and I was convinced that he is a great performer after all. Frank Mastrone
