A giant figure in modern Argentinian history, Eva Duarte only lived 33 years, but those years took her from a poor family in the town of Jun�n to the presidential palace of Buenos Aires. A model, then actress, and finally a politician (albeit an unofficial one), Eva was regarded as a saint and a common tramp at the same time. Evita was one of the first shows I ever saw on stage, and it really showed me that a serious subject could be dealt with effectively through song and dance. I've seen it produced twice more, with varying degrees of success. Read more about my experiences with the show.
