The St. James Theatre in New York
It just wouldn't be a Frank Wildhorn show without some controversy, now would it? :-) This show certainly had more than its fair share, due primarily to the fact that it had no "traditional" book. Also, the music did not even attempt to be of the time period, as many expected. However, those things are not what The Civil War was meant to be. If you can get past that, you'll probably enjoy the show. If not, your loss.

The show opened in April of 1999, and closed in June. It was nominated for two Tony Awards (Best Musical and Best Score), and a national tour travelled the country in 2000 - 2001. It is now available for regional and amateur productions.
