1957 TV Movie Soundtrack1957 TV Movie Soundtrack. For a long time, the film that went with this recording was lost, so a lot of people have heard this film without seeing it. The recording almost sounds live, even though it was actually recorded in a studio prior to the live movie broadcast. Julie Andrews is Cinderella, and she absolutely dominates this recording, in the best way possible. Still, the rest of the cast are very enjoyable as well! The CD has four bonus tracks, including a nice piano version of "In My Own Little Corner," sung by Julie.

1965 TV Movie Soundtrack1965 TV Movie Soundtrack. This recording features Lesley Ann Warren as Cinderella and Stuart Damon as the Prince. It includes the song "Loneliness of Evening", which was not in the original movie. Other than that, it doesn't include as much music as the 1957 version, and I prefer the cast on the earlier recording as well. Who can beat Julie Andrews? I also find the quality of the recording a little bit lacking. It's not terrible by any means, and if you're a big R&H fan, or a big fan of this show, you will certainly want to have it, but I would suggest starting out with the earlier recording instead.

Songs from the Fairy TaleSongs from the Fairy Tale. This one isn't strictly a recording of the Rodgers & Hammerstein show, but I love the recording, so I'm including it anyway! It does include several of the R&H songs, like "In My Own Little Corner", "Impossible", "A Lovely Night/Ten Minutes Ago", "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" and the "Stepsisters' Lament". It also includes songs from several other musical versions of the story, including Prokofiev's ballet, Into the Woods and the Disney film. The singers involved are fantastic, and it's a great introduction to all of the different adaptations.
