This was the first show in my life I was ever late for! I felt so terrible - I simply hadn't read the tickets close enough when I bought them, and didn't realize the show was starting at 7:30 rather than 8:00 (*everything* in Toronto starts at 8:00). So we showed up to the theatre around 7:40, and had already missed about 5 minutes. We got seated during "The Prince is Giving a Ball", so we didn't miss a lot, but I still felt awful!

I was thrilled to be getting to see Deborah Gibson on stage, since of course I had been a big fan of hers when I was a young girl. She still has a lovely voice, and was a fine actress, although I was surprised to notice she has a bit of a lisp - that certainly isn't evident in her pop songs. I wonder if they edited it out?
I was also very excited to see Eartha Kitt as the Fairy Godmother, and she was equally good. The Prince was Paolo Montalban, who had done the TV movie with Brandy, and though I felt he was maybe a bit too young for Debbie, I still enjoyed his performance very much.
There were some fun special effects during "Impossible!", and it's a show I would really love to take kids too. And we, as "grown-ups", enjoyed it just as much!
