It felt a little strange to be seeing this show at the Pantages - it's just a bit of a different atmosphere from Studio 54! :-) But it was very good all the same - the only part that was lacking was the audience interaction at the beginning of Act Two - it's just not the same to have the Emcee talking to people over the pit. :-)
I liked Jon Peterson as the Emcee quite a bit, although Alison nearly ruined his whole performance for me by pointing out that with his hairstyle he bears a striking resemblance to Edward Scissorhands. I think one of the reasons I liked him was that he was so different from Alan - he didn't try to be Alan, he had his own take on the role.
I have to admit to not being that fond of Andrea McArdle's interpretation of Sally. She was much more subdued in the role than anyone else I've seen, and seemed to lack the spark that makes Sally so fascinating. However, she sang beautifully, and all the songs were great.
I really enjoyed the supporting cast, especially Hal Robinson, Alma Cuervo and Drew McVety, and as I mentioned already, I didn't feel that the show really lost all that much from being in a more traditional theatre setting. Overall it was a really good evening!
