I love when I get a recording where I don't know anybody, and end up finding a bunch of fantastic performers!

Raza JeffreyRaza Jeffrey. He plays Akaash (or "the hero", as they say in the ads :-), and he is well suited for it! Handsome, and with a great voice, he brings the audience over to his side without appearing to try. You are really rooting for him through it all! His version of "The Journey Home" has earned a spot on my "wonderful male voices" mix CD. :-) There's a brief biography of him on the Hello magazine site.

Preeya Kalidas. On my way to London, there was an article in the in-flight magazine about Preeya, which I read with interest. It made me really anxious to hear her on the CD, and I definitely wasn't disappointed when I did! I really enjoy her voice, and also the sensitivity she brings to the character. Find out more about her at her My Space page.Preeya Kalidas

Manu NarayanManu Narayan. Manu was immediately likeable as Akaash, from the first moment he appears. He has an ease on stage, yet also an eagerness that's endearing, so even when the character is not behaving well, you know that there's really a heart of gold underneath. Read more about him at Manu Narayan Online.

Anisha Nagarajan. Along with having a beautiful voice, she played Priya wonderfully. You could feel her attraction to Akaash, but also why she was with Vikram. The general goodness of the character was evident in every scene, and of course, you are so happy for her at the end!Anisha Nagarajan

Ayesha DharkerAyesha Dharker. It's hard to get much of an idea of her character from the recording, except that she's very sexy :-), but it's not hard to notice that she has a great voice. I would love to see her on stage in this part - we had an understudy for her in New York, but maybe I'll see her another time. Read a bit more about her at Wikipedia.

Raj Ghatak. He reminds me a little bit of a figure skater that I enjoy, but that's not the only reason that I like him. :-) The character of Sweetie is a little tricky - I think it might be easy to lean towards comedy and stereotyping, but I get the feeling that Raj takes it deeper than that. Again, I would love to see him on stage! Check out the Internet Movie Database for more!Raj Ghatak
