The stage version of Billy Elliot opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London on March 11, 2005 to nearly unanimous glowing reviews. It was nominated for 9 Olivier Awards and won 4, for Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical for all three Billys (James Lomas, George Maguire and Liam Mower), as well as Choreography and Sound Design. It continues to play in London. At the age of 13, Liam Mower is the youngest person to ever win Best Actor. The show will premiere in Australia at Sydney's Capitol Theatre in January of 2008. It will be opening on Broadway in the fall of 2008.
