Bat Boy: The Musical made its Off Broadway debut at the Union Square Theatre in New York on March 3, 2001, and played its final performance on December 2, 2001. This production won the Outer Critics Circle award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, and was nominated for 8 Drama Desk Awards, including Oustanding Musical, Actor (Deven May), actress (Kaitlin Hopkins), Book, Music, and Lyrics. There is currently no tour, but the show can be seen in regional productions across the country, and in some other countries as well. The show had its UK premiere in June of 2004 at The West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. The London production opened at the Shaftesbury Theatre on September 8, 2004 and closed on January 15, 2005, with Deven May reprising his role. It was produced at the Edinburgh Festival in 2006, and there is apparently a movie version in the works - you can check the Internet Movie Database for updates.
