Okay, is there anyone out there who DIDN'T love this movie?? :-) It is one of my all-time favorites. Of course, the story is a classic, but I really feel this is one that Disney did a good job of adapting. For instance, the introduction of the character of Gaston added a different twist to the story, and perhaps made the message even stronger to those watching it...about the correlation between outward appearance and inner beauty.

Of course, the best thing about Disney's movies is that they are musical!! And I loved bringing music into this story. The songs are really wonderful, and it was always one of my favourite Disney soundtracks. And I was so happy that they kept all the songs for the stage version!! I think probably my favourite song from the movie was "Something There". The tune is so pretty, and it was great to see the Beast singing! I also love the secondary characters in this movie. As Disney often does, they created some wonderful and very memorable minor characters, most notably those of Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and Chip. They have some of the best lines in the movie!! The newly-released DVD is fantastic, and definitely worth the purchase for anyone who is a fan of this movie. There are three different versions of the film, as well as many special features and games. I spent quite a few hours with it! See how much you know about the movie in my quiz!
