The goal of the creative team was to create the first Danish "through-composed" musical - and it looks like they succeeded. :-) The show had its premiere at the Bellevue theatre in 1993, and the first major production of Atlantis opened at the �stre Gasv�rk Teater (Gaswork Theatre) in Copenhagen, Denmark on December 18, 1994, and closed in 1995. There was another production after 1996, and the show has also been produced by several amateur groups throughout northern Europe.

The show was mounted at the Palsgaard estate summer festival from August 7 � 17, 2003 - read Clarissa's wonderful review of this production!

On October 11, 2003, there was a 10th Anniversary Gala Concert in Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, including much of the original cast. The concert has also been released on video and DVD!

A full-scale production of the show opened at the Szczecin Opera House in Poland in October of 2004. Beginning in September of 2005, there was a Danish tour, featuring some members of the original cast, which visited Randers, Herning, Esbjerg, Aalborg, Viborg and Copenhagen.
