Aspects of Love opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London on April 17, 1989 and closed there on June 20, 1992. The original cast then opened at the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway on April 8, 1990, and the show ran there until March 2, 1991. In 1991 there was a "chamber version" produced, and there have also been productions in Australia, Japan, Germany, Hungary and Finland.

I'd love to even see just the opening scene. :-) Apparently in more current productions, they've changed it so that Alex now sings "Love Changes Everything" while George's funeral is going on in the background. I don't know if I necessarily like that idea, but I guess I'd have to see it to know for sure.

Other scenes I would love to see would have to include "She'd Be Far Better Off With You", "The First Man You Remember", and the whole finale. I would also really like to know exactly what George tells Rose about Alex's last year of school!!! :-) If you want to check out how much you know about this show, try my Aspects quiz!

I think this is a show that really depends on the strength of the performers. The characters are not the most sympathetic ever...they're all a little twisted even. :-) So in order to get you to care about what's happening to them, the actors really have to work. I would love to see a Rose that could actually make me like her. :-) However, I can't imagine anyone but Michael Ball in the role of Alex...the two are just synonymous for me.
