Since I haven't seen this show, most of my favourite performers are those on the CD. Other than that, there are a few people I have heard sing some of the music, and I know they've performed the role, so I'll include them as well!
![]() | Michael Ball. What can I say? He *is* Alex. :-) Someone I used to know actually even referred to him as Alex Ball at one point. I just can't imagine the character without him!! He can be incredibly sweet, believably angry, and heartbreakingly sad. Anyway, for more information about this wonderful performer, visit my Michael page, which has links to other great pages!! |
Ann Crumb. Now, I don't really like the role of Rose, but I think that Ann does a really good job of it. She's got a lovely voice, and there are certain parts (like the "I've only got one life, not two" bit) where she lets some of Rose's less selfish motivations come through, making the character much more well-rounded. | ![]() |
![]() | Diana Morrison. Jenny is a very interesting character, and I think that Diana really did a great job of conveying that on the recording. Her voice sounds sufficiently young and inexperienced when it needs to be, and she can also demonstrate real emotion. |
Peter Cousens. Apparently, he played Alex in the Australian production. Now, I've already said that Michael is Alex, and I'm going to stick to that. :-) But Peter's version of "Love Changes Everything" really isn't too bad, and I think he's fabulous in other shows he's done, so maybe I'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt. :-) Check out the Official Peter Cousens Web Site. | ![]() |
![]() | Sarah Brightman. She actually did this show about 3 hours from where I was living at the time, but I had no idea it was going on! :-( I've heard her perform a number of the songs from the show, and I especially enjoy her version of "Anything But Lonely".
