It was a little strange finally seeing this show on stage - it's been a long time since I went to see I show that I hadn't seen before, but that I was still pretty familiar with...if that makes any sense. :-)

Anyway, the two things I was a little leery about, as with pretty much any tour, were the cast and the sets. I'll start with the latter - the sets were great! I really couldn't notice much difference from what I've seen in pictures of the Broadway production. I thought they might skip the swimming effect before "My Strongest Suit", for example, but they didn't, it was there! As for the cast, I really enjoyed Paulette Ivory as Aida (there were moments she could have passed for Heather Headley!) and Jeremy Kushnier as Radames (although I don't really like the long hair on him :-). Kelli Fournier as Amneris had a great voice, but I thought she didn't really hit a few of the comedic moments, at least as compared to Sherie Rene Scott. But the supporting cast was great as well, especially the understudy Donnie Kehr as Zoser (a part I don't normally like that much), and Eric Christian as Mareb.

I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Zoser's songs without laughing, as I heard his cronies described once as his "Backstreet Boys backup dancers", and that's all I could think of everytime they were on stage. :-)
